"Plasteksistenser" by artist Maria Viftrup
Discover works by artist and designer Maria Viftrup, created from plastic waste collected from everyday household recycling at Resource Recovery and Recycling in Vejle.
The plastic has been collected, washed, sorted, and transformed into sculptures. Through this process, Viftrup has created a series of new entities. She then breaks the plastic down into granulate using a plastic shredder – a process that, in industrial contexts, is the first step toward recycling plastic. In Viftrup’s works, however, it becomes a method for viewing plastic as a material with fresh and curious eyes.
The artworks may occasionally be on loan elsewhere.
